It is with immense sadness that the Go Kart Club of Victoria announces the passing of Paul Stania.

Paul passed away suddenly on Tuesday 26th August 2025, after a short illness.

He will be remembered with gratitude for his major contribution to the club in his capacity as Clerk of Course and as a Steward for over 30 years.

He was also a mentor to countless members and drivers over many years.

Paul's input and leadership established many guidelines and procedures still in place at the club to this day.

His dry sense of humour and outgoing personality will be well remembered by all who had the chance to know and converse with Paul. Pragmatic and opinionated, he nevertheless had a soft side as well, offering advice to anyone that asked.

It is fair to say that Paul lived and breathed karting with a passion for at least 50 years, having been a fierce competitor himself for several years.

His son Jason and more recently, his grandson Oliver have carried on Paul's legacy in the ensuring years.

Paul will be fondly remembered for years to come by the committee and ordinary members of the club.

Everyone will greatly miss the warm, thoughtful and passionate presense of Paul and Sylvia at the track.
